Dong Dong Gaaf - gen;lon

A warm welcome to the latest Jazzland recording adventure... gen;lon the abbreviated, punctuated, and yes, rather splendid Swedish electronica duo Rikard Gensollen & Jonas Lonna... Like all good electronica stories begin, the duo met for the first time when they were 16 years old in a club - where Jonas had his first residency as a DJ. Since then Jonas has become one of Sweden’s most acclaimed DJs, known for his tasteful mix of leftfield sounds, broken beats, techno & deep house. He has played around the globe in clubs such as: Blaa/Oslo, Roxy Club/Istanbul, Blue Note/Tokyo, Brancaleone/Rome, Tango Club/Beijing, . He was also one of the founders/residents, together with Mad Mats, of the world famous Fusion club in Stockholm, nowadays trading as Raw Fusion. In 1999, Jonas booked the Jazzland honcho Bugge Wesseltoft and his New Conception Of Jazz to come and play at the Fusion Club. Whilst on stage, Bugge asked him to join in the live “jam”...and since that day, Jonas has been a regular band member of The New Conception of Jazz, programming beats and sounds for the two classic Jazzland albums “Moving” and “Film Ing”. Since 2000 Rikard has been Jonas´s beaty sidekick, performing percussion for Jonas´s celebrated DJ sets. He too eventually joined the NCOJ band as percussionist and has also programmed beats for Bugge´s «Film Ing» album. In-between worldwide tours with Bugge Wesseltoft & DJ:ing in various clubs, they’ve also been busy back home working their own material in their gen;lon studio in Stockholm. Their Jazzland debut promises panoramic electronica, music to take the enchanted listener on a journey into the unique sound and vibe of gen;lon. Not surprisingly, Bugge Wesseltoft appears on keys on one of the tracks! Already getting big support from DJs such as Laurent Garnier and Lars Behrenroth( Deeper Shades of House ) , gen;lon are currently putting together a club tour as well as producing new material. They’ve also made two remixes for the Nu-Jazz collective Flowriders (Holland) and just made two remixes for the Swedish hip-hop/electro funk project SLS.
